About Dr. Nashua

Dr. Lisa Nashua graduated from Rosemead High School as the culmination of fourteen years of public education, commencing in the head-start program at Dan T. Williams Elementary.  She holds a bachelor of arts degree in Art History and a master’s degree in leadership and management.  The doctorate she holds is a Ph.D. in education with an emphasis in multiculturalism, diversity and student services.  Her career highlights include working for over two decades in higher education and the arts. Throughout her career as an educator and college administrator, Dr. Nashua’s commitment to the educational success of students, student access to the arts and technical training to benefit local communities has been reflected in her work.

Lisa Nashua has facilitated opportunities for students from K-12 education to college, raised funds to support student success through scholarship and program support in partnership with administrators, professors and teachers as well as local elected officials.

Increase student success, for K-12 to college

  • Partnership between Chaffey College Chino Hospitality Program and San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.
  • Partnership with Ontario Montclair School District College Promise Scholars Program to create a pipeline and facilitate awards for students to attend Chaffey College.
  • Partnership between Chapman University, Santa Ana School District and the Klein Family Foundation to teach college English at a high school and support college engagement activities.
  • Garner resources to enable K-12 student educational programming at the Museum of Latin American Art 
  • Partnership between the Museum of Latin American Art, education department with LAUSD high schools and the LA County Arts Commission to engage artists as high school guest lectures.
  • Partnership between Pomona Unified School District, Pomona Boys & Girls Club and Cal Poly Pomona faculty to support updating physical education curriculum development and implementation for students at PUSD.

Community service programming

  • Partnership with the office of Supervisor Hilda Solis to provide students at LA City College with infant – toddler formula and baby supplies.
  • Partnership with the Auto Technology Department to present Trunk or Treat community events and annual Car Show and competition at Chaffey College.
  • Partnership with Target Corporation to engage local families at Target Free Sundays at the Museum of Latin American Art.
  • Partnership with the City of Pomona, Pomona Unified School District and local community leaders to bring the Los Angeles Philharmonic to perform a community concert, six years running.
  • Partnership with Pomona Unified School District to present a performance tied to class lesson plans by the Los Angeles Opera to all 3rd grade students studying the westward expansion.
  • Partnership with Pomona Unified School District, Western University, the City of Pomona by Cal Poly Pomona to bring over 100 local artists to participate in a community arts project facilitated by famed artist Judy Chicago in Downtown Pomona with exhibitions throughout the community including the Pomona Fairplex.

Career and technical training

  • Partnership between Chaffey College Intech Center and Industry to increase trainees seeking jobs – Chaffey Joint Union High School District, training on high school campus to pipeline high school students into CTE careers.
  • Partnership with the office of Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez and Chaffey College to secure a budget allocation to build a new state of the art welding center.
  • Garnered over $4.1 million from private funders to enable the Chaffey College InTech Center to support training and apprenticeships for trainees at local businesses.
  • Garnered over $300,000 to support trainees at the Chaffey College InTech Center to engage in paid internships with local businesses.
